Accessible websites that load fast and are open to everyone

We design and build websites that meet WCAG 2.1 at level AA from the start, and with it the requirements of BITV 2.0 and the BFSG. No trackers, no external services, no cookie banner.

How we build

  • Structure first

Content, navigation and language are organised before anything is designed. What people understand, screen readers and search engines understand too.

  • Design with contrast and calm

Colour contrast of at least 4.5:1, clear typography, a visible keyboard focus, operation by mouse, keyboard and touch. Design that does not distract.

  • Lean technology

Every page is self-contained: fonts and graphics are embedded, no request goes to third-party servers. That loads fast, even on mobile networks, and needs no cookie banner.

  • Forms that work

Labels, understandable error messages, spam protection without picture puzzles. A form someone cannot submit is a lost enquiry.

  • Multiple languages

Language versions correctly marked up and linked, so that read-aloud software speaks properly and search engines show the right version.

  • Visible in search engines

Structured data, sitemap, clean titles and descriptions are part of the delivery, not an afterthought.

For which projects

  • New builds and relaunches

Websites for companies, public administrations, associations and practices. We migrate existing content from your old system and reorganise it.

  • Landing pages and microsites

For campaigns, events or a single offer. Small in scope, complete in accessibility and legal compliance.

  • CMS projects

Working with WordPress, TYPO3 or another system? We review themes and templates, advise the developers and train the editorial team.

Process

  1. Conversation and structure

Goals, audiences, content. From this the site structure emerges, which you approve.

  2. Design

Design based on your visual identity, checked for contrast and legibility before a single line of code is written.

  3. Build

Page by page, with interim versions you can view in the browser. Changes are inexpensive at this stage.

  4. Testing

Tests with keyboard, screen reader and magnification plus automated checks. We fix findings before handover.

  5. Handover

Finished files on your hosting, documentation, accessibility statement and a briefing for your team.

What you end up with

  • The finished website on your hosting, with no recurring licences or dependencies on third parties
  • A test log with the results of the accessibility test
  • An accessibility statement, legal notice and privacy policy matching the technology used
  • Documentation and a briefing so your team can maintain content themselves

Let's talk about your project.

An initial conversation is free and usually takes 30 minutes. Afterwards you will know what needs doing and what it costs.
